Galaxy Dance Project begins in Holland!

Noah Campbell, breakdancer from Rotterdam, Holland has been inspired by the Galaxy Dance Project Uganda to open up a GDP partner project in his home country, promoting the benefits and positive aspects of breakdance and the hip hop culture, for free, to the youths in his community.

"Our main reason is to dance for the kids and their future in music", says Noah. "I want to make it my work so I can live in it and therefore make a real change in the community. So many kids need a helping hand, not just in Africa but across the world, and Galaxy Dance Project can offer this through dance and the positive elements of hip hop."

Noah has also said that seeing what the Galaxy Dance Project is doing in Uganda has reminded him of why he dances. "So many people dance and get involved with music and rap for the wrong reasons. Reasons like making money, getting famous or feeding their ego. I'm rebelling against this. We should be doing right in the world and helping people grow and this is what the GDP in Uganda is doing. This is why me and my family of dancers support the project and want it to grow throughout the world"

Noah has been dancing for 16 years and has long family ties with street dance. His uncle, Don Campbell, who Noah describes as his "teacher of truth" is known to have invented "locking" (originally Cambellocking) which is widely associated with hip hop dance around the globe.

Galaxy Dance Project Uganda hugely welcomes the new arrivals to our growing family and look forward to getting to know all of our brothers and sisters in Holland. Alex, founder of GDP Uganda commented, "We want to say a huge thank you to Noah and his crew. All our love and respect goes out to those who support the Galaxy Dance Project and this is a massive step forward for us in both Holland and Uganda and towards our goal to make the GDP a worldwide family"
